This wasn’t just us, everyone we spoke to said they dread meal times because of how sick the heat made everyone feel eating. Another struggle we had was the lack of A/C. (May sound silly but I needed to be home with my own gp that doesn't cost $170 and not extortionately priced pharmacies). I felt quite awful after this and we ended up going home a day early. Anytime I ate “normal” food when I felt slightly better, it laid me up for a day. However 5 days into our stay I unfortunately got food poisoning from the daisy snack bar which meant that it took over our trip from that point on. We have just come back from our honeymoon where we were due to spend 10 nights 11 days. Letty is an an excellent massage therapist! Overall, I still love ORP, despite the covid situation, the staff continues to work hard to make every guest stay wonderful.… I loved the massage on the beach, tried all the different colors, 4 x / week, the pink, white and yellow massage therapists lol,and I highly recommend the yellow ones. I also missed the great nightly entertainment, understandable due to covid, although the fireshow one night was great. Beach is free of seaweeds on our last 3 days of stay, I just wished that they paved and cleaned the privilege area better, as it was not looking good, with all the dried seaweeds and uneven sand elevations left in front of the daybeds.( unlike the resort next door it was cleaned and sand was leveled better). They deserve it□□ Food is great, we were able to try all the restaurants, thanks to Ariz. These employees deserve a recognition, and managers at ORP, hopefully, you give them raises and bonuses, lol. Irving at the Margarita bar is awesome too. Thanks to Baltazar, our favorite waiter at Pez Vela restaurant, for always wearing his beautiful smile, good humor and very welcoming attitude, and of course taking of our drink orders all the time. Also, Ramon at the Privilege beach, he was always there to assist us, from sanitizing to putting linens on our daybed throughout our 7 days stay. Special mentioned to Ariz, our butler, she took care of every minor issues we had in our room, booked all our dinners, always available and a good communicator, thru whats app. I can say, ORP always have the nicest and attentive staff. It is my 3rd time with my family at ORP, but first time during covid. Definitely not a luxury resort and will not be returning. The water splashed right up against the sand bags along the one side of the beach pool. The daisy pool and the kids pool was fun for our kids. But they eventually close too and it’s not something you want to haul your 1 year old and 4 year old to. But at night your only option is to walk to a restaurant or one of the adult bars to get more water. If you wanted to get water you had to go to a bar. You can only get bottled water from the minibar once a day which they minimally stocked. My biggest gripe is they don’t give you water bottles to drink from. The food at the buffet was overly salty, and the options were mediocre at best. Not clogged the flusher just didn’t work. Toilet stopped flushing the one day we were there. I ended up holding my 1 year old in the shower. If it wasn’t for the ceiling fan our room would have been extremely uncomfortable. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work well. There was no air conditioning in any restaurant. We have been all over the Yucatán peninsula.
